Pure Barre, the largest, most established barre fitness concept in the nation, with over 500 studios in the United States and Canada. Pure Barre is a total body workout that utilizes the ballet barre to perform small, isometric movements, which burn fat, sculpt muscles and create long, lean physiques. Pure Barre has exploded in popularity in recent years, due to its extremely effective technique, friendly, high-energy atmosphere, and fun, motivating music.
 
POSITION: 
The Pure Barre Fitness Instructor will lead up to 20 participants through the Pure Barre experience. 
RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Teach a minimum of five (5) Pure Barre classes per week, weekend shift required in addition to weekday classes
  • Take a minimum of 2 classes/ week, 4 classes/ week recommended (try to take 1 class in a format you teach)
  • Advance to the next level of teaching certifications within a reasonable amount of time, determined by you, the Lead Teacher, Regional Director, and owner if applicable
  • Build client relationships through outstanding customer service at every client encounter
  • Create an impressionable Pure Barre experience
  • Maintain cleanliness of studio: vacuum after class, wipe down client cubbies and benches, spot clean mirrors
  • Assist in studio deep cleaning
  • Attend all staff meetings as scheduled
  • Act as substitute teacher upon need
  • Act as a Pure Barre Brand Ambassador
  • Pick up weights during arm stretch; if another staff member is in attendance or on shift, they will help. Weights to be cleaned and put away after the completion of class
  • Set up members for Reform & Empower class formats
  • Demonstrate consistency in punctuality, professional appearance, and reliability
    • No baggy clothing should be worn while instructing classes, the clients need to be able to see what and how you are moving
  • Must arrive 20 minutes before class and stay 15 minutes after class (30 minutes before Foundations and stay until all clients have left) must interact with clients before and after class
  • Review keynotes for all member and non member bookings for your classes to ensure you are aware of injuries or limitations 
  • Stay 5 minutes after a class with zero bookings (unless prior canceled by management)
  • All time off requests must be submitted in sling prior to the 1st of the following month (all requests for February need to be submitted by January 1st)
    •  Once the schedule is up in sling, it is your responsibility to find coverage and switch shifts. If you are unable to find a trade, you are required to teach the class as scheduled
  • End of day:
    • Plug in ipad or ipod, remote and plug in mic pack batteries
  • Follow the choreo schedule for all formats as determined by lead teacher 
  • Learn all warm up and weight work options for each quarter to adhere to the choreo schedule 
  • Promote and assist with closing of memberships and retail
  • Adhere to all studio policies including but not limited to: attendance, illness, social media, privacy
  • Acquire and maintain CPR/ AED certification
  • Complete a 4-day training at one of our corporate training centers or online as well as significant “at home” study and preparation for certification before being eligible to teach classes.
  • Lift hand weights, demonstrate full body pushups, and maintain high-energy for 50-minute class is required

  • Dependable with a strong work ethic - natural willingness to go above and beyond
  • Confidence to energetically command a room of 20 people
  • Musicality - ability to keep rhythm and count to beat of music
  • Background in dance, fitness, cheerleading or barre concept (ideal but not required)
  • All instructors are required to complete a 4-day training at one of our corporate training centers, as well as significant 'at home' study and preparation for certification before being eligible to teach classes
  • Minimum one-year commitment to teaching required before attending 4-day training
